Ms. Fernandez will provide a brief overview of the functions and responsibilities of the Colorado Supreme Court’s Office of Attorney Regulation, before addressing in detail common ethical issues likely to be encountered by child support attorneys and their staff.  Topics will include communication and conflicts issues arising when a governmental agency is your client, appropriate supervision of staff with an eye toward preventing of the unauthorized practice of law, ethical issues that arise in dealing with unrepresented parties, and avoiding attorney grievances in high conflict cases.
