Lex Jorge joined the Denver Police Department in 2006. He began his law enforcement career working patrol and proactive Street Crime enforcement.  Upon his promotion to sergeant, he supervised Street Crime teams and the Gang Bureau.  In 2016, he was honored to be appointed to his current position as Detective Sergeant of the District 1 Narcotics Unit, leading a team of talented narcotics detectives and uniformed officers.  In this position, Detective Sergeant Jorge has redefined how narcotics units operate in Denver, focusing on community crime prevention through large-scale narcotics distribution suppression operations, and spearheading such projects as Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD) and the Denver Methamphetamine Abatement Partnership (DMAP).  Lex holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from The University of Iowa and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Queens College of the City University of New York.
